Stick to it for results

Stick to itYou know why you're not getting the results you want? You're not putting in the effort and you're not sticking to a plan. You can blame time, energy, work, finances, injuries, or even your trainer, but the bottom line is you're not prepared to stay the course. Why? Because it's challenging and sometimes it's damn hard. And sometimes progress looks like it's a step backwards, when really it is a reset and solidifying the foundations to prepare you for the next step forward.

You can take supplements, reduce calories, drink meal replacements, do 30 day challenges, workout with a trainer, go to the gym every other day, and still not get the results you want. Why? Because you're doing so many things it's exhausting, and you have no idea which of the things is actually working and what is not. Reality is much of it is probably working against you when combined.

I can tell you what doesn't work:
* Sabotaging your training with inappropriate food choices.
* Cutting calories below that which you need for basic bodily function.
* Quick fixes in the form of exercise or food challenges.
* Anything that has an end date and doesn't become lifestyle, or habit.
* Blaming anything or anyone other than yourself.

Sure, you can get short term results from any or all of these things, but if you're prone to cycling weight and can't seem to 'keep it off', perhaps consider that 'detox' or other short term thing you did that "worked well last summer/last year" really didn't work at all.

You're back where you started, and why? Because it's easy to quit. It's easy to place blame externally. It's easy to stay comfortable in the weight loss/weight gain cycle.

What's harder and more beneficial than the mental and physical rollercoaster you're sitting on is admitting you're comfortable and you don't want to get off, because you don't have faith in yourself that you're able to stay off.

The frustrating thing is that if you stayed off the 'try anything and everything' weight loss and fitness rollercoaster long enough you'd see you can stay off...and be infinitely more content for longer.
